Typical Treatment Timeline
During your free consultation, individuals will meet with one of our caring staff members. Here you will go through a patient consultation to review any past or present medical history. We will explain every aspect of NeuroStar TMS you or your loved one will go through.
In this part of the process, we will also discuss insurance coverage. Because NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy is safe and effective, it has been recognized as a covered service by most major health insurance plans. To learn more check out our financing page.
During the pre-assessment, a medical professional from our team will ask you questions about your mental health history as well as your symptoms.
Once you and one of our medical professionals have discussed your history, they will begin creating a specific treatment plan that meets your needs and works around your schedule.
On your first appointment, our team will work to tailor a treatment plan that is individualized for you. Unlike future sessions, the first one might last a bit longer as we want to make sure we provide the NeuroStar TMS therapy effectively.
The first session will last approximately 60-90 minutes and individuals will be given earplugs during their treatment.
At TMS Center of the Hudson Valley, our Neurostar Advanced TMS Treatment session will typically last around 18 and 25 minutes. During these sessions, you will be sitting comfortably in a chair.

Returning for Your Next Session
A full course of NeuroStar Advanced TMS Treatment is 36 sessions. For optimal results, it is recommended that patients undergo treatment five days per week for the first several weeks before slowly decreasing the number of weekly treatments. At the TMS Center of the Hudson Valley, we work with you to develop a treatment schedule that fits your needs and optimizes your results.
